The rest of Good Friday (April 18, 2014)

After visiting the House of the Virgin Mary, we went on to Ephesus. It rained on and off today, but it stopped every time we were outside visiting sites. 

Ephesus is spectacular. We spent about two hours touring the site and some of us went into the Roman Terace Houses (separate fee, but equally as fantastic as the "regular" tour of this ancient site.

From Ephesus, we went to Selcuk for lunch on our own. After we visited the Temple of Diana (one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World). Finally, we had an hour in Kusadasi where we checked things out and shopped in the center of town.

 

We arrived back at the hotel at 6 pm. Dinner is at 7:30 pm and tomorrow morning we board our cruise ship for Patmos & Santorini.
