On the way to Pergamon we stopped to learn about how the Turks make rugs. We saw how they take the silk cocoons and turn them into thread. There are 2000 double knots in each square inch. Anyone who wanted to could sit down with one of the ladies and tie some knots. Several participants bought rugs.
